He Dumped Me For Being Poor, Not Knowing My Family Owns His Empire
Chapter 1
I played poor for three years, eating cheap cup ramen with Hale in a cramped studio apartment.
He thought I was an orphan who grew up in foster care, and I never bothered to correct him.
On the day of my prenatal checkup, he slid a gold-foiled invitation across the table.
"Samantha and I are getting married at the end of the month."
"Windsor, I’m not a poor guy. I’m the heir to the Harman Medical Group."
"Her family has been partnering with mine for twenty years. My mother wants this marriage."
I stared at the gilded letters on the card, completely stunned.
He continued in a flat, indifferent voice, "I’ll support the baby once it’s born. I’ll agree to any financial terms you want. But the wedding is happening."
I gently touched my belly. "Then what am I to you?"
Hale was silent for a moment. "You are the most special person in my heart. But she is the daughter-in-law the Harman family needs."
"As long as you don't cause trouble for her, my feelings for you won't change."
Most special. So special that I didn't even deserve a legal name. How ironic.
"Hale, you think she’s a better match for you?"
I let out a soft laugh. "Then tell me, do you know the last name of the largest investor in Harman Medical Group last quarter?"
