My husband’s first love suddenly had a depressive episode and jumped from a building.

In a fit of rage, he dragged me, eight months pregnant, to a drop tower ride, ordering someone to forcibly strap me in.

“If you hadn’t deliberately provoked Scarlett, why would she have a depressive episode and jump?”

Suffering from acrophobia, I tearfully apologized to him, begged him to let me go, and promised I would never appear before Scarlett again.

But he just shook his head coldly.

“Evelyn, for the sake of the child, I won’t divorce you.”

“But the pain you caused Scarlett, I’ll make you repay it a hundred, a thousand times over!”

He had them set the ride to run for an hour, then turned and left.

As the drop tower slowly climbed higher, I struggled and screamed in terror.

The moment my body lost all sense of gravity, a warm gush of fluid rushed out of me.

Three days later, he finally remembered me, still suspended on the drop tower.

“Evelyn, Scarlett is fine now. If you kneel and apologize to her, I’ll let you down.”
