When I returned home in wet clothes, I saw the man who was supposed to be on vacation with my stepmother.

He looked at me lecherously.

It made me sick.

"Lily, why are you in this state?"

"Don't call me that!" I growled, searching for any sign of my stepmother.

"What are you looking for? That woman isn't home, she's on vacation."

"I told her there was a problem with the business at home that needed to be dealt with, so I asked her to wait for me at the destination."

The man stood up and walked towards me step by step.

I fumbled for the new craft knife in my backpack.

"Lily, you're getting prettier and prettier."

The man's gaze deepened.

As if he couldn't resist anymore, he lunged at me.

I slashed the knife hard, blood gushing from his forearm.

"You little bitch!" The man roared in pain.

"Touch me again, and I'll kill you. I don't care if I have to fight to the death with you."

I put the knife back in my backpack and ran out.

I had lied to the man. I did care about my life.

Because I had promised my dad that I would live on well.

Suddenly, I thought of the boy I had brushed past earlier that day.

I think I heard them call him Zachary Goodwin.

I had a new idea.
