My Fiancé Helped His Mistress Steal My Glory, So I Made Them Beg for Mercy
Chapter 3
I glared at her, and the more enraged I became, the more triumphant she grew.
"Pfft!"
She spat at me, using my sisters' lives to threaten me, warning me not to move. Otherwise, she would have long been dead by my hand.
"Looking at me like that, don't you just want to kill me? Hahahaha!"
"I know you're itching to kill someone right now, but if you move one more inch, I'll shoot both of them."
Then, she swayed her hips provocatively, looking down at me with disdain.
"Who would have thought that a legendary, undefeated warrior like you would be caught in my chokehold, forced to obey?"
"I'm telling you, Zara, your era is over. Now, it's my world. You'd better be sensible. Accept it, whether you want to or not, understand?"
"Bang!"
She fired her gun at the flag hanging above, the one symbolizing my rank, shooting it down. Then she walked over and stomped on it with her foot.
"Whoever needs to take a dump now, I'll reward them handsomely if they use this flag to wipe their ass. Afterward, I'll have a big reward for you."
Immediately, everyone rushed forward, eager to humiliate me and curry favor.
I wondered where these dogs found such guts. Had they truly forgotten my brutal methods of retaliation?
They thought a flimsy gun could force me to submit? Dream on.
I suppressed my rage, watching the crowd scramble for the flag, and let out a cold laugh.
"You're so eager to die, you don't even need to fight over it. Do you really think my era is over? Heh, how could it be?"
"Bang!"
I raised my gun, sweeping a bullet across the foot of the new recruit who was stepping on the flag.
She cried out in pain, collapsing to the ground and writhing.
Facing so many gun barrels, I stood calmly and coldly, utterly unfazed.
"Zara, you dared to injure my person? Who gave you the audacity?"
"Heh, I've lived on the razor's edge since I was a kid. I don't need anyone to give me guts."
"Don't think a gun can threaten me. If you really kill me, my friends out there will rip your skin off, believe me."
"Don't believe it!"
"Because our strength is not to be underestimated. We're more than enough to stand against your people."
"And my reputation as the Venomous Wolf is not to be trifled with."
As my defiant words faded, a cold-faced man in military uniform stepped out.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to look at him – it was Damon, my fiancé.
Instantly, all the mercenaries on site respectfully hailed him as "Commander Damon."
That title, "Commander Damon," was undoubtedly a slap in my face.
Because before this, I was the one everyone revered.
Hearing their respectful address, Damon grew even more smug.
When his eyes met mine, the coldness and disdain in them were no longer hidden; they were openly displayed.
He thought his wings had grown strong, that he called all the shots in the entire mercenary group.
He no longer needed my help and could bully me as he pleased.
"Zara, you are not to steal Brittany's credit."
"You've received so many awards, you don't need this one. Let Brittany have it this time. I want her to make a name for herself, to let more people know she exists."
"If you refuse, then you're going against me completely."
"And I will never allow anyone to walk all over me. I'm telling you, anyone who defies my orders is asking for death."
His unspoken meaning was clear: he was threatening me, telling me to swallow this insult.
"Damon, this world is about blood. If she's a capable mercenary, she should earn her stripes and fight her own battles, not hide like a coward and steal others' glory to make herself look good."
"Understand?"
