Chapter 1

Visiting my mom at the Serenity Haven, she suddenly clutched her chest, crying out in pain. I immediately reached for her emergency heart medication.

But the new head nurse, Tiffany, slapped the pills right out of my hand.

“Visitors aren’t allowed to give residents medication without authorization!”

“I’ve established new rules. All medications must be approved by me before use!”

Seeing Mom’s ashen face, I frantically shouted:

“My mom has coronary heart disease, and she's having an angina attack right now! She needs her medication immediately! Any delay could be fatal!”

I tried to grab the pill bottle from the floor.

But the head nurse stepped on it, crushing it under her heel.

“What’s all the fuss about? Chest tightness is common for the elderly, don’t make a big deal out of it.”

“If everyone caused such a scene, breaking the rules, would you be responsible for the chaos?”

This nursing home, which I invested two hundred million dollars to build, was denying my mother the right to her emergency medication!

I was shaking with rage. I immediately called Director Miller.

“Director Miller, you have three minutes to get in front of me, or you can kiss your job goodbye!”
