Although my parents initially opposed bringing Lucas home, they soon accepted him. No one knew better than me how smart Lucas was.

After just three piano lessons, he could play entire pop songs from memory.

Two months into chess lessons, his teacher was no longer a match for him.

The smiles on my parents' faces gradually increased. They nurtured Lucas with all their efforts, just as they did me.

Lucas was strikingly handsome, exceptionally talented in his studies, and though his personality was a bit aloof, his merits far outweighed any flaws.

Some prominent figures even started strategizing for their daughters, discussing becoming in-laws with my father.

Though pleased, my father politely declined.

After all, we were still too young.

From then on, my parents paid even more attention to Lucas, becoming stricter with his education.

His food, clothing and other needs were treated exactly the same as mine, their biological daughter.

Lucas and I also became as familiar and at ease with each other as we had been in my previous life.
