Reborn for Revenge: I Let My Childhood Friend Fall from Grace

Chapter 2

After school, the campus was nearly empty.

I took deep breaths of fresh air, trying to calm myself. Being suddenly pulled back from the hatred and fear of my death was jarring.

Ethan was handing Olivia a bottle of water. It contained an aphrodisiac that would inflame her desires.

In my past life, I had accidentally discovered Ethan pouring some unknown white powder into the water.

I exposed him on the spot.

But Olivia didn't believe me. She insisted on drinking the water anyway.

She even asked if I was just jealous that Ethan was better looking than me, and that's why I kept targeting him.

This time, I wouldn't stop her.

After taking the water, Olivia instinctively looked at me.

"You're not going to try to control even my drinking water, are you?"

"Do whatever you want," I said with a wave of my hand.

Ethan couldn't miss a chance to antagonize me. He immediately chimed in:

"Alex, your possessiveness of Olivia is too much. Doesn't she even have the freedom to make friends?"

At his words, the few classmates still in the room gave me strange looks.

Olivia's face darkened even more.

"Who does he think he is? Just a bookworm."

I gripped my pen tightly, hatred surging in my eyes.

"Are you two done? I haven't said anything from start to finish."

Olivia was taken aback, and fell silent with a scowl.

Ethan continued stirring up trouble.

"You didn't say anything, but your face says it all. Olivia and I just talk for a bit and you glare at us."

Hearing this, Olivia shot me an angry glare.

As if to spite me, she drank the entire bottle of water.

In my past life, I had knocked the bottle away, so she only took one sip.

But even that one sip was enough to make her lose control.

I couldn't imagine what drinking the whole bottle would do to her.

I found myself looking forward to it.

Seeing her finish the water, Ethan could barely hide his excitement.

He took Olivia's hand. "Olivia, let's walk home together."

Of course Olivia wouldn't refuse.

The two left the classroom hand in hand.

Ten minutes later, Emma, our class president, burst into the classroom red-faced.

By then, I was the only one left in the room.

Emma stammered, clearly struggling to speak.

"What's wrong? Did something happen to Olivia?" I asked proactively.

Emma grabbed my hand:

"Yes, yes, it's them... they..."

"What happened?"

I looked Emma in the eye, pretending I knew nothing.

I used to trust Emma completely.

She wasn't just our class president, but my deskmate for all three years of high school.

I thought we were close friends who could tell each other anything.

But I never imagined she would stomp on me so viciously after the incident.

She told everyone that I had a crush on Olivia and drugged her.

She even started a livestream to denounce my actions.

"I was his deskmate for three years. I always knew he liked Olivia, but I never thought he would do something like this."

"Alex is a sex addict. He... he once called ten prostitutes in one night."

"I tried to talk him out of it, but he wouldn't listen."

That livestream pushed the whole incident to its peak.

I was completely ruined. The school pressured me to drop out.

Later, I ran into her by chance.

By then she had risen to a high position.

"Thank you. If you hadn't gotten into trouble, I wouldn't have been able to take your spot for early admission to a top university."

The memory flooded back, and I stared hard at Emma.

In my past life, she and I had discovered Ethan dragging Olivia into the bathroom together.

I rushed in to stop them, while Emma said she would call for help. But she just hid and watched, recording a video...

Seeing I wasn't in a rush, Emma became frantic and incoherent.

"Olivia and Ethan went into the men's bathroom. Olivia keeps crying. Ethan... Ethan is trying to assault Olivia."

"But don't they like each other? How do you know Olivia isn't willing?" I asked.

Emma was stunned by my response.

Everyone in class knew Olivia and Ethan were flirting, just short of making it official.

Emma anxiously grabbed my wrist.

"But they're still students. They can't do this!"

"Come on, let's go check. We can't just ignore this."
