The better I performed, the more enthusiastic Mom became towards me.

After Mom went upstairs to rest, I was about to return to my room when Rachel violently pushed me to the ground from behind.

"You little bitch! You stole Mom from me! What's so great about being able to dance? I'll cut your tendons and see how you dance then, you bitch!"

Rachel raised a piece of broken glass, her face a mix of excitement and ferocity, about to stab at my ankles.

"Sister, no!" I cried out in feigned panic, trying to struggle. But I clearly heard Mom's hurried footsteps coming from her room.

Three, two, one...

Before Rachel could react, Mom kicked her away.

The next moment, Mom held me in her arms lovingly, glaring at Rachel with fury.

"You little demon! What were you trying to do to your sister?!"
