After buying a designer bag worth 30,000 dollars with my husband's payment card
Chapter 5
After Nora realized she was holding my phone, she immediately threw it to the ground.
The screen flickered a few times before going black.
"Ugh! Who gave you permission to use such an expensive phone?
"Just so you know, those clothes you're wearing, Daniel bought them for you. Once you're divorced, you won't be able to take anything with you!"
I was absolutely furious. At this point, nothing she said would surprise me anymore.
I was more curious to see Daniel's reaction when he came back.
After all, this bag was something he had asked me to buy for his client, and it was a limited edition.
The one I bought was the last one in the boutique.
His company had recently faced a financial crisis, and the client he was gifting the bag to was the only one who could save his company.
I've always had a love for designer bags, and I know the salespeople at the boutique. After begging me for three days, he finally convinced me to help him buy it.
Now, the bag was ruined.
Without that bag to win over the client, his company was probably doomed.
"Fine, let's see who Daniel will blame when he comes back."
Seeing that I still wasn't backing down, she became even angrier. She pointed at me as if to scold me, but in the end, she held back.
It seemed like she realized that, being elderly, she couldn't win against me.
But she wasn't ready to give up just yet.
She tilted her head, thinking for a moment. And then, as if coming up with a devious plan, she quickly walked to the door, opened it, and sat down in the hallway outside.
She started crying loudly, "My life is so miserable! At my age, being abused by my son's wife! I must have had the worst luck in the world!
"Someone, help me! If I hadn't run out of there, this bitch would have killed me!
"She's abusing me! She's trying to kill me!"
As she said this, she slapped her thigh and then suddenly screamed in pain.
It seemed she had forgotten that her hands were covered in broken glass, and blood was still oozing from her palm.
Though I was still very angry, I couldn't help but be amused by her actions.
She shot me a glare and, seeing no neighbors come out, got up and started knocking on doors.
"Someone's going to die! Someone's going to die!"
