Chapter 2

Ethan showed up at the hospital room right on time the next day.

He took my luggage and naturally reached for my hand.

After completing the discharge procedures, he took me home - to his home.

He told me my room was the guest room.

When I saw him enter the master bedroom, I couldn't help but ask, "Aren't we sleeping in the same room?"

Ethan was visibly stunned, then he said in a pitiful tone, "You don't let me sleep in the same room with you."

The doctor said I had forgotten many things, and I couldn't remember why I wouldn't let him sleep in the same room.

But to openly say I wanted to sleep in the same room with him, I couldn't bring myself to do it.

So I coughed lightly, "Let's keep this arrangement for now, and... we'll discuss it again when I recover."

He agreed readily, but his handsome smile made my hair stand on end.

Ethan went into his room and didn't come out again. Even at mealtime, there was no sign of him.

I had no choice but to go to the kitchen to cook.

Halfway through cooking, a strong presence enveloped me from behind.

"What are you making?"

I instinctively stepped back, and his solid male physique pressed against my back. The scorching heat transmitted through the thin fabric of our clothes.

It was so hot that I dropped the spatula in my hand.

I quickly bent down to pick it up, but my leg brushed against his, fitting perfectly.

Before I could react, a pair of strong arms lifted me up and set me aside.

I turned my head, only catching a glimpse of Ethan's flustered figure retreating.

Although I had forgotten many things, common sense remained.

Realizing what I had just done, my entire face and neck turned red.

After finishing cooking, I went to call him. When he came out, he didn't mention the kitchen incident.

Instead, he said, "My brother is getting engaged tomorrow. As my girlfriend, you should come with me."

I nodded.

Then a thought struck me, "Doesn't that mean I'm indirectly meeting your family?"

Ethan resumed his casual demeanor, "You've already met them before. Just be yourself."

With Ethan's reassurance, I felt at ease.
