It wasn't until the next morning that Lucas finally showed up.

He brought my favorite dumplings, acting as if nothing had happened, and offered them to me.

I didn't take them, my eyes unconsciously glancing at the clock on the wall. It was already 10 AM.

He followed my gaze and feigned sudden realization, "Lily wasn't feeling well and couldn't go out, so I delivered to her first. That's why I'm late."

"Don't worry, nothing happened between us."

He leaned closer with a mischievous smile, reaching out to stroke my hair. But the pungent jasmine perfume emanating from him made me want to vomit.

I frowned and instinctively leaned away. Seeing this, his expression froze, and he opened his mouth as if to say something.

I looked straight at him and said flatly, "Let's get a divorce, Lucas."

His smile gradually faded, his face instantly darkening. His tone was filled with disbelief and incomprehension.

"Just because I went to deliver sanitary pads to Lily? You want a divorce over such a small thing?"

"You know I tricked her into the water back then, which caused her painful periods. Is it wrong for me to take care of her?"

"She was worried you'd be upset about it, and she couldn't sleep all night because of it."

I had heard before that when Lucas was young, he loved to play pranks. When he first met Lily, he tricked her into getting into the water, saying there was money in it. But it happened to be during her period, and ever since then, she experienced painful menstruation.

In his view, I was just upset because he had abandoned me yesterday.

And me? If I hadn't shielded him from that teacup yesterday, I wouldn't have miscarried and ended up in the hospital.

As my husband, he didn't even ask about my condition.

Lucas looked at me with disappointment, as if I was being unreasonable.

But I didn't care anymore.
