I Came Back Before the Fatal Crash

Everyone quickly recognized the popular, multi-championship winner and began whispering.

“Didn't the pink car cut off Mr. Johnson’s car first? Why is he comforting the one who caused the accident?”

Hearing the murmurs, Johnson realized he'd lost his composure.

Afraid of damaging his image and plan, he carefully placed Eve on a roadside bench.

He even thoughtfully took off his jacket and placed it on the bench before letting her sit.

“You're hurt, and the bench is cold. You might catch a cold.”

Then he turned to me, his gaze icy.

“You drove recklessly and startled Eve, which caused her to swerve into your car in a panic.

You were wrong first. Apologize to her immediately!”

I was about to protest, but the people around us suddenly looked enlightened, glaring at me with contempt.

“So she's just relying on her status as the champion’s wife to drive like a maniac and provoke people!”

“No wonder Mr. Johnson always drives. He’s truly spoiled her rotten, making her think the road is her own living room!”

“She ruined such a beautiful car. Hurry up and apologize to Miss Eve!”

I shook my head, speechless.

“She maliciously cut me off first. Why should I apologize?”

Eve's eyes instantly reddened. She pulled at Johnson’s angry arm.

“Johnson, Karen only crashed into me because she saw you were too concerned about me. Don't blame her!”

Then she tugged at my hand.

“Karen, you misunderstood. He was just taking care of me as you asked him to…”

I coldly shook her hand off.

“Taking care of you to the point of giving you cars, houses, and even our child?”

Eve froze, speechless, tears welling up in her eyes.

A flicker of unease crossed Johnson’s face too,

But the sight of Eve's tears filled him with distress. Mindful of the many eyes watching, he suppressed his anger and frowned at me.

“Considering it's your first time driving in a while, get down on your knees and apologize to Eve. Take full responsibility, and this matter will be over.”

I laughed, enraged.

“Me, kneel? I might have sped up, but it didn’t affect her driving.

She deliberately cut me off, endangering my family’s safety!”

Several witnesses also stepped forward to speak fairly.

“Mr. Johnson, are you mistaken? Eve was driving fast, but within traffic rules. It was this pink car that maliciously cut off your car while speeding. She's the one at fault!”

Seeing everyone’s accusations turn towards her, Eve put on a tearful, wronged expression.

“I understand. Just because I’m not the champion’s wife, I’m being ganged up on.

I don't blame anyone, only myself for not having a name or status…”

Johnson couldn’t bear to see her like that. Ignoring the paparazzi’s flashing cameras, he raised his hand and slapped me across the face.

“Karen, do you have any humanity left?!

You constantly told me to take care of her, yet you didn't hesitate to put her in danger!

How can a hypocritical bitch like you be worthy of being my champion’s wife!

Get down on your knees and apologize, or I don’t mind finding a new one!”

Annie, seeing her father so angry for the first time, burst into tears.

“That bad lady bullied our car! Why should we apologize?”

Johnson actually kicked Annie, knocking her down.

“And you! How dare you be rude to Eve in public, you ill-mannered brat!”

My anger flared. I pushed him away, picked up Annie, and glared fiercely at the wretched pair.

“If I hadn't crashed into her, it would have been Annie and me hitting that tree! If I hadn't been driving today, your wife would probably be someone else by tonight, wouldn't she?”

“You think when I told you to take care of her, I meant sleeping with her and buying her this luxury car to take my daughter’s and my life?!”

Johnson’s eyes widened. Only then did he realize I'd seen through their little scheme.

He was about to argue when police sirens blared.

Seeing the police begin to investigate the scene, Johnson immediately stepped forward to report.

“I can confirm, Karen drove recklessly first, which angered Eve and caused her to cut off her car! If you’re going to arrest someone, arrest this ungrateful woman first!”
