I Came Back Before the Fatal Crash
Chapter 3
The pink car flashed past, and the gust of wind it created actually made our car sway.
Johnson panicked, fumbling to buckle his seatbelt.
“Karen, your driving isn’t good enough, don’t try to be like that car just now…”
But before he could finish, I imitated his actions from the previous life, my face serious, the accelerator floored.
“Johnson, don't worry, I won't let any car get ahead of you, the champion!
The media all recognize your car. If you're photographed, your future will be ruined!”
As I sped off, the car lurched violently, and he couldn't get his seatbelt buckle to click.
Eve, unaware it was me driving, was still aggressively swerving in front of my car.
Johnson, terrified, had to grab the door handle. Guilty but daring not to speak harshly, he tried to sound patiently persuasive.
“Karen, it’s your first time driving in ages. Don’t get into a road rage with someone like this! If your license gets revoked, you really won’t be able to drive again!”
Remembering how Annie and I had cried and pleaded in the previous life, only for him to ignore us, I gave a cold laugh.
“You’ll be driving anyway from now on. Even if my license gets revoked today, I won't let you lose!”
Annie, securely buckled in, sat steadily and even clapped excitedly, cheering.
“Mommy is amazing! Faster than Daddy! So exciting!”
Seeing that I wasn’t slowing down, and even tried to accelerate into the pink car a few times, Johnson’s eyes were filled with worry for Eve.
Finally, he couldn't keep up the act any longer and roared.
“Karen, are you insane?
Annie is in the car! Even if you don’t care about me, think about her!”
But I had cried just like that, clutching his arm until my voice was hoarse.
He had coldly shaken me off, his eyes only showing the grim determination to get rid of us.
“I’ve been good enough to you two. Today, can you really bear to see me get overtaken by another car and become a laughingstock?”
Even when we crashed into the tree, Annie and I bled out on the spot, and he didn’t spare us a second glance.
Instead, he took out a handkerchief to wipe the blood I’d splattered on his designer clothes, his eyes full of disgust.
“Even when you’re dying, you still have to dirty the custom-made suit Eve gave me. You really deserve to die!”
Only then did I realize that my month-long trip abroad with Annie, where I'd asked him to help take care of Eve, who had just returned, had become a hotbed for their affair.
Well, today was the day to settle scores!
With a scream from Johnson, I squeezed through an impossible gap, shot past the pink car,
And lightly tapped her front wheel, performing a perfect pit maneuver.
Her car instantly lost control, spun several times, and crashed into a tree.
Though Johnson was also injured, he couldn't bother to hide his feelings anymore.
Before our car even fully stopped, he flung open the door and rushed out, heading straight to the pink car to check on Eve.
Seeing that she only had a scratch on her forehead, he hugged her protectively in front of the onlookers, then glared at me.
“Karen, if anything happens to Eve, I swear I’ll kill you!”
