My Wife Sent Me to Die for Her Childhood Friend—Then Lost Her Mind After I Died

Chapter 2

Bianca laughed from anger.

She turned around and left.

“If I ever meddle in his business again, I’m an idiot!”

When her hand touched the door, she kicked it open with disgust and completely failed to notice the bloody word “Help” beside the handle.

Adrian’s eyes flickered, and he pushed Bianca out one step faster.

“Bianca, let’s hurry and go, because this place is creepy, and I’m guessing Ethan deliberately wanted to mess with us.”

Bianca agreed deeply, and the corner of her mouth curved into a faint smile.

“That’s true, because he isn’t like you, and he has loved pulling these pranks since he was little.”

Adrian smiled.

I did not want to watch the two of them being so affectionate.

But I had no way to leave.

I could only force down my nausea and drift in the air.

“Ah—”

A scream caught Bianca’s attention.

Her expression changed, and she hurried over.

A person with a figure similar to mine was being hung up and tied there.

A whip fell on him without mercy.

He was wearing thin clothes in the middle of winter, and the whip tore his clothes open and split his skin and flesh.

It looked utterly terrifying.

“Ms. Blackwell, that person violated every rule of male virtue, so he was punished.”

The director could not figure out what Bianca was thinking, so he lowered his eyes and acted obedient.

But she did not speak and only watched quietly from where she stood.

The person carrying out the punishment did not notice Bianca’s presence.

After about dozens of lashes, that person was finally let down.

His whole body collapsed weakly on the ground.

But he was soon kicked back up.

“Why are you playing dead?”

“Clean yourself up, because tonight you’re going to the Royal Court Hotel to entertain clients!”

He did not dare resist, and he obediently knelt on the ground and prostrated himself at the man’s feet.

“Please, I beg you, please make an exception for me, because I’m covered in injuries right now…”

The man pushed him away in disgust.

I gave a bitter smile.

Memories from the past appeared before my eyes.

This had never been treatment only for those who broke the rules, but simply the norm.

Most of the men in the male virtue camp were good-looking, and we were called students in name, but in reality, we were slaves.

We were usually not fed well, and we ate spoiled bread, rotten eggs, decayed vegetable leaves…

Sometimes when we were being punished, we could only drink kitchen slop.

Even so, they still counted it as sky-high meal fees for us.

Besides cleaning the male virtue camp, we even had to go out and…

They said this was a test for us.

Only if we were willing to do anything could we earn our wives’ love.

So being half-dead had already become our normal state.

Bianca quickly walked over and kicked him hard.

She grabbed him and pressed his head into the water.

“Ethan Hayes, you really are cheap, and you violated every rule of male virtue, so did you think I couldn’t deal with you here?”

The person under the water struggled desperately.

I also floated over and wanted to help, but in the end, I was only a soul and could not touch them at all.

It was not until the man was about to suffocate that Bianca finally let him go.

“You’re not Ethan Hayes?”

I looked apologetically at that fellow victim, because he had suffered this undeserved disaster because of me.

He coughed hard a few times and finally slowly came back to himself.

He laughed aloud.

“Ethan Hayes?”

“Ethan Hayes died a long time ago!”
